What I use
The tools and toys that help me build things. Updated occasionally when I find something better or break something irreparably.
01 Hardware
MacBook Pro 14" M4
Sleek silver. The space black looked cool but I'm not a monster.
Studio Display
5K, great colors, mediocre webcam. The stand costs more than some monitors.
Dygma Defy
Split ergonomic keyboard with thumb clusters. My wrists thank me. Yes, I'm one of those people now.
02 Development
Claude Code
Team Claude all the way. AI-assisted coding that actually gets it.
VS Code
For when I want to feel like I'm in control. Extensions carefully curated over years.
Kitty + Fish + Starship
Fast terminal, friendly shell, pretty prompt. The holy trinity.
tmpdisk
I built this one. RAM disks for builds and caches. Shamelessly self-promoting.
03 Stack
Rust
All backend should be performant, small, self-contained, and correct. Rust delivers.
TypeScript
When I'm forced to work in a browser. I'd prefer Rust or Yew, but TypeScript is a necessary evil.
Astro
For static sites like this one. Ship less JavaScript, load faster.
PostgreSQL
The one true database. I will die on this hill.
04 Productivity
Tahoe Launcher
Killed Raycast for this. Always wary of VC-backed company rugpulls.
Apple Notes
Simple, syncs everywhere, doesn't cost $10/month for basic features.
1Password
For passwords, SSH keys, and secrets. The CLI integration is chef's kiss.
05 Desk Vibes
IKEA Standing Desk
BEKANT or whatever it's called. It goes up, it goes down. That's all it needs to do.
Herman Miller Embody
Expensive, but my back thanks me. Cheaper than a chiropractor over 10 years.
